The £500 Runaround: Surviving the Peak District

When you hear "road trip," you usually picture a grand tourer gliding across a suspension bridge at sunset. You don't usually picture a 15-year-old hatchback with a suspicious knock in the suspension, sitting in the rain at a Peak District layby.

But that's exactly where our journey began.

The Challenge

We wanted to prove that you don't need a £40,000 SUV to have an adventure. You just need a full tank of petrol, a map, and a mild tolerance for discomfort. We bought this car off a driveway in Milton Keynes two days ago.

The goal? Make it to the Dark Peak without breaking down, freezing, or calling for a tow.

The Route

We bypassed the main motorways and stuck strictly to the B-roads. The twists and turns exposed every worn bush and tired shock absorber, but it also forced us to drive at a pace where we could actually see the landscape changing around us.

(This is where you'd eventually drop in your photography or video links!)
