About
What TurningCircle is, what it covers, and the standards its articles are held to.
TurningCircle is an independent publication about the UK car market, with a particular interest in the switch to electric.
It exists because most car coverage online sits in one of two places: press-release paraphrasing that reads like an advert, or forum argument where the data is optional. This site aims for the middle ground. Guides here are built on primary sources rather than press releases, and written in plain English for people who buy and run cars rather than read spec sheets for fun.
What we cover
- Buying guides grounded in what UK drivers actually register and buy
- Policy explainers: the ZEV mandate, the Electric Car Grant, tax and charging changes
- Market data, with the numbers that matter separated from the ones that only look good in a headline
How we work
Every article links to its primary sources, usually SMMT registration data or GOV.UK policy pages, so you can check the working yourself. If a number matters to the argument, it is in the text. If something cannot be sourced, the article says so.
There are no sponsored posts and no affiliate links. If that ever changes, this page will say so in plain terms.
The site
TurningCircle carries no advertising and does no tracking of any kind. It is a static site that loads no JavaScript, so it works quickly even on a poor connection.
